What is orthodontics?

Orthodontics is a specialty of dentistry (as well as Maxillofacial Surgery) that deals with the study and treatment of malocclusions of the upper and lower dental arches, which may be caused either by local dental causes or by jaw displacements or in combination with them.

Orthodontic treatment can be aimed exclusively at pure tooth movement or it can control and direct the development of the face, which is then defined under the term “orthopaedic-orthodontic treatment” (according to the American Orthodontic Association).

Invisible Orthodontics

Invisalign and Clear Aligner are invisible orthodontic methods that use thin, transparent and removable aligners that allow correction of dental malocclusions without physical or aesthetic discomfort for the adult patient.

It is also a method that helps patients maintain a high level of oral hygiene, as the aligners can be removed when brushing teeth and cleaning interdental spaces.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a simple, conservative (non-invasive) cosmetic procedure that is virtually painless, absolutely gentle on the gums and enamel, and produces amazing results by improving the color of the teeth depending on the needs of the individual.

Depending on the method, whitening leads to up to 5 degrees whiter teeth compared to their original color.

Adult Orthodontics

Thanks to new scientific advances, orthodontic treatment is now accessible to adult patients as well, as the modern, discrete mechanisms overcome the aesthetic limitations that existed in past years.

Treatment of adult patients can now be performed with aesthetically acceptable methods, such as: Aesthetic Ceramic Brackets, Lingual Orthodontics, Invisible Aligners (Clear Aligners, Invisalign).

Adolescent Orthodontics

Adolescents constitute the largest group of orthodontic patients. The appropriate time to start orthodontic treatment in adolescents is generally before the eruption of the last milk teeth, at the end of the mixed dentition, around the age of 11-12.

The cooperation of the patient both during the treatment and in the phase of maintenance of the therapeutic effect is considered necessary to achieve the best possible result in the shortest possible time.

services 5
Children's Orthodontics

The first evaluation by an orthodontist should be done at age seven.

If necessary, a “first phase” of orthodontic treatment is performed, which lasts about a year and is usually done with movable mechanisms rather than braces that adhere to the teeth.
